ACL Manager 2.3.0 released: Enhanced Diagnostics
I wish you a Happy New Year! Let's start this year by the release of ACL Manager 2.3.0!
This new version contains a lot of improvements on the diagnostic tool to check and fix the assets table of your Joomla websites. It also introduces dynamic loading of Users and User Group in the Control Panel of ACL Manager, and several bug fixes and other improvements. ACL manager is fully compatible with Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 3.0.
Enhanced diagnostic Asset checks
Since the introduction of the diagnostic tool in ACL Manager 1.3.0 the diagnostic tool discovered and fixed many issues with Joomla assets on thousands of Joomla sites, according to the feedback and ACL Manager reviews I have received.
Thanks to the feedback of several customers I was able to further improve the diagnostic tool in this release of ACL Manager. Let's have a closer look at these improvements.
New check: Orphan Assets
A new check is available in ACL Manager 2.3.0 that is able to detect Orphan Assets in your Assets table. An orphan asset does not have a related article, category or component anymore and is normally removed upon deleting content. ACL Manager can now detect and remove these Orphan Assets.

Improved check: Missing Assets
Besides the check for missing components in the Assets table the Missing Assets check can now also detect and add missing categories and articles. For example: if you have an article without an entry in the Assets table, ACL Manager will make sure it is added correctly to the Assets table.

The Asset Issues check is also further improved. I have added more smart checks so it will detect more Asset issues for you. So it is likely that installing ACL Manager 2.3.0 will result in detection of new asset issues. Simply click on the fix button to fix them all!

New option to set the 'Diagnostic Issues Limit'
Some sites really do have a lot of issues with assets, think about 10.000 issues or more. To prevent 'memory_size' errors to fix the issues it is now possible to limit the 'batch size' of the issues. Issues are now fixed in one or more batches. You can configure the batch size in the options of ACL Manager.
Users & User Groups dynamically loaded in Control Panel
The Control Panel of ACL Manager displays all Users and User Groups. By clicking on the titles you can manage or view the permissions. To speed up the ACL Manager Control Panel for sites with thousands of Users and User Groups the data is now dynamically loaded.

How to update ACL Manager?
If you have an active subscription you can easily update ACL Manager via the built in live-update feature. To use this feature you need to set your "Download ID" in the ACL Manager component options. You can find your personal Download ID in the member area. It is still possible to download ACL Manager in the Member Area and install the package via the Joomla installer. It is not required to uninstall your existing version of ACL Manager first.
