ACL Manager 2.4.7 released

ACL Manager 2.4.7 releasedI am pleased to announce the availability ACL Manager 2.4.7. This release contains bug fixes for several issues and improvements have been made for Joomla 3.5. ACL Manager 2.4.7 is fully compatible with the latest Joomla 3.5 version and PHP 7. Subscribers of ACL Manager with an active subscription can download this new version in the Member Area.

It has been a while?

Yes, it has been a while since the last release of ACL Manager. The main reason for this is that ACL Manager didn't require updates to be compatibly with Joomla 3.4 and Joomla 3.5. Which I think is a good thing! However, this doesn't mean nothing happened meanwhile. Quick and professional support continued as usual. But I have also been working on a complete rewrite of ACL Manager.

Upcoming: brand new version of ACL Manager

Behind the scenes I have been working on a brand new version of ACL Manager: version 3. This new version of ACL Manager has been rewritten from scratch. Many performance improvements have already been made. The diagnostic tool will detect more asset issues then ever before and will even be more robust.

Another main focus for the new version is that ACL Manager will be pro-active in supporting you to set-up the permissions for your websites correctly and make use of preset configurations. This should help you to quickly configure the ACL settings for your website needs.

More details and new features will be announced closer to the launch of this version. The planned release of ACL Manager 3 is for this summer, together with a new website for ACL Manager. Please enjoy ACL Manager 2.4.7 for now!

How to update ACL Manager?

If you have an active subscription you can easily update ACL Manager via the built in live-update feature. To use this feature you need to set your "Download ID" in the ACL Manager component options. You can find your personal Download ID in the member area. You can also download ACL Manager in the Member Area and install the package via the Joomla installer. It is not required to uninstall your existing version of ACL Manager first.
